Ruth Arumala, MPH Student, Mercer University School of Medicine, received a National Institute of Health Diversity Supplement Grant. The grant will allow Ruth to work with an NIH funded researcher on Health Disparities research for the next 2 years and learn from a principal investigator while conducting her own research.
Specifically, Ruth will be working on a Church-Based Diabetes Prevention Translation Study through the Mercer University School of Medicine. The project focuses on measuring the effectiveness of using African American Churches in Connecticut and Georgia as a venue for health promotion.
