Sloan BurkeSloane presented on stress-coping behaviors among college students. The purpose of the study was to examine the positive and negative coping behaviors of college students and whether differences by gender, ethnicity, and residential status existed. Sloane also presented on media influences on body image perceptions among college students. The results of this study revealed that among this sample of college students, many of the students appear to have some dissonance between their actual weight status and body size, and their perceptions regarding these personal body image issues. Among female students, a significant proportion are dissatisfied with their body size.
