Marilyn Hetzel Presents at Inter-Disciplinary Conference

Marilyn HetzelMarilyn Hetzel, MS, project director with the Teaching American History Grant, Utah State University - Uintah Basin, presented "Enduring Understanding of 'Health is Life in Balance': Learning and Teaching Diabetes, Science, and Health" at the Inter-Disciplinary Conference in Bellingham, Washington.

The focus of the conference, held January 26-27, 2006, was on diabetes in the context of American Indian, Alaska Native, and Canadian First Nations communities, including tribal schools, schools serving tribal communities, and Tribal Colleges/Universities. 

Marilyn combines her background knowledge in science, public health, education and cultural awareness in working with students who will be future public health researchers, practitioners, and educators.
