Brian Rivers, PhD, MPH, and Mario Browne, MPH, CHES, presented at the Moffitt Cancer Center: Cancer, Culture and Literacy 6th Biennial Conference (Methodologies and Best Practices for Addressing Cancer Health Disparities) in May 2008. The ELPH alumni presented Barbers Against Prostate Cancer which focused on a discussion about the barbershop as a communication channel to deliver prostate cancer education to African-American men. Lessons learned and practical recruitment, retention and implementation approaches were highlighted.
